THE HOLY WARRIORS
A Singular New Orleans Supergroup!
From May 19 to 21, 2017, a  remarkable New Orleans supergroup will make its debut with a series of live performances.  The Holy Warriors will be playing the original score to a play by Rob Florence called “Holy Wars” about the nation’s first black Civil War hero, Andre Cailloux, and the only abolitionist priest in the New Orleans archdiocese, Father Claude Pascal Maistre.  The score is composed by Harold Brown, Sunpie Barnes, and Bill Summers. The repertoire will include songs from the score, percussion jams, and some classics.  The Holy Warriors are Bruce Sunpie Barnes, Helen Gillet, Matt Hampsey, Calvin Johnson, James Singleton, Bill Summers, Rick Trolsen, and Cole Williams.
The performances will take place May 19, 20, and 21st at St. Alphonsus Art & Cultural Center, The U.S. Mint / National Jazz Park, and Bayou Boogaloo.
